Service Description

Eye exam for children are very important to make sure there are no vision problems due to refractive errors or ocular health issues. Thorough examination is crucial as children need good visual acuity at both distance and near and good eye teaming skills as well as eye movement skills for optimal learning. Common vision problems in children includes: Myopia Where objects farther away looks blurry. Hyperopia Where objects nearby may look blurry and may result in headache and focusing issues. Astigmatism Imperfection in your curvature of your eye's cornea or lens and therefore sees shadowy double up images. Misalignments of eyes (strabismus) This may be caused by different reasons and sometimes can result in lazy eye. Hence, it is important to detect and treat early. Lazy eye (amblyopia) Abnormal development of vision in one or both eyes during childhood due to various reasons and results in permanently decreased visual function. Causes of Lazy eyes can be due to refractive errors, strabismus, droopy eye lids, cloudiness in normally clear parts of the eye. Early intervention is needed to prevent permanent damage to the vision in any of above conditions.
